What I want to become when I grow up.

Intro When I grow up I want to become something that will help me change the world. There are many career options that I like to consider: an engineer, a doctor, an architect, or a college teacher. Engineer Why you want to become engineer I want to be a mechanical/chemical engineer to help make cars more fuel-efficient. I want to do that by adding solar panels that are lighter and efficient.  What will you do when you do? Engineers are creating many fuel-inefficient cars. They are reducing the weight and making them have more aerodynamic shapes. But they don't add solar panels to produce energy as they increase weight of the car.  I will create solar panels that are very light and dense in producing energy. I will add these solar panels to the cars others make. How will that change the world? Cars contribute to 40% of the CO2 pollution. These solar panels will reduce the CO2 pollution by 10%. This will reduce our energy dependence on oil and coal that causes most of the polluti

If I Inherited Ten Billion Dollars!

By Arjun Agrawal Introduction I wanted a PS3 game console really badly but I just didn’t have enough money. My dad made me write essays to earn money, which was really hard work.  Still I didn’t have enough money to buy the game. So I decided to take a big chance and I bought California lottery ticket.  I was really anxious for results that would come the next day. The next morning my dad came screaming in a happy voice and cried that I won the lottery of ten billion dollars!! I was so happy that I was going to faint. (I actually did) My name was on the newspaper and the TV news. I was the new famous Richi Rich. The first thing I did was to buy 100 video games and played with these games for hours and days. Surprisingly, I got bored in a month of continuous gaming. So I bought a fancy mansion 50,000 square feet in the Saratoga hills. I bought 4 nice fancy cars of all kind: Nissan leaf, new Tesla model S, Lamborghini, and a Nissan skyline. My dad took me on fun a

Arjun the android

Who are you?   Hello my name is Arjun. And have 2 parents and 2 little brothers. When did you find out? When I was a kid, my youngest brother was playing with a knife. I was worried that he might hurt himself. So I went to take the knife away but instead he accidentally cut my hand off!!! I saw robotic parts in my hand I was scared and confused. I told my dad all about this. It turned out that he was trying to hide this secret that I was an android!! How do you feel? Then I knew that I was not like my two younger brothers. This made me very angry with my dad. He tried to pacify me. He said that he doesn’t feel any different about me than other two of his other sons. He loves me as much. He emphasized that I have many advantages of being a machine like getting my hand replaced. My dad took me to a walmart store to buy a replacement hand for me. I saw many other robot children getting new body parts. I couldn’t believe that I could get my hand replaced. It felt as my old hand. An ide
The Making of Fuel-efficient Car By Arjun Agrawal. Introduction I want to explore ways to increase fuel-efficiency of the car to reduce the environmental impact. When cars drive most of the energy is wasted in heat and only 30% of energy is used to move the car. There are several ways in which cars can be made fuel-efficient including reducing weight, increasing aerodynamics, changing the type of fuel, fast refueling, finding energy dense batteries, reducing battery degradation, and reducing the cost of battery materials. Weight Cars are made of metals such as steel that are heavy to be strong and hard. This makes the car protect the human being from getting hurt in an accident. But the weight of the car takes more energy to push it forward making the car fuel inefficient. We have to use lighter materials that are strong. There are the following materials we can use: ·         Aluminum:  Aluminum is reasonably strong and light.  Aluminum is in mass production for various other uses

Martin Luther King

By: Arjun Agrawal Martin Luther King was an American civil rights leader fighting for colored people, so they can have equal civil rights. Martin Luther King once said, “The time is right to do what is right.” Right means to do something good for this world. What was right then was to end segregation between people.  Today, in the U.S., all humans are now equal.   Today, right has a new meaning. We humans need to extend our humanity to other creatures of this world. While I was going to Las Vegas this Christmas, I saw thousands of cows standing to get slaughtered!! The place smelled really bad. This is when I asked questions and researched to find out that we treat animal more cruelly than ever before. In United States, we are not raising animals in farms any more. They are raised in a factory, in small cages. In these cages, animals can barely move.  Animals are piled up inside the cages which are full of manure. Animals are forced fed things they will never eat. Herbivores are f

Cars There are 5 kinds of cars. Small car, regular car, sports car, SUV, and the minivan. My favorite Small car My favorite small car is the Toyota Prius. It saves lots of gas energy. I it is very light weight. It has hybrid engine: both electric and gas. It is very advanced. It has camera on its back. It displays the condition of the condition of the in the monitor. The thing I don’t like about this car, is that it is somewhat more  expensive among small cars. Prius costs 25000 while other small cars cost about 17000. My favorite SUV My favorite SUV is the Acura MDX. It is very fancy in the inside.  It is very advanced in the inside. It has camera to see the back.  It is very popular among my friends. Most of my friends have this car. What I don’t like about it, it wastes lot energy. It is very big and heavy thus engine spends lot energy to move the van. My favorite regular car It is the Mercedes Benz. It is very popular, it is very advanced, it is very fancy, what I don

The first colony at Mars!

Why you want to go to mars I was an air force pilot in US Army. The government of United States chose me and 5 other people to colonize Mars. We had to do this so that we have a 2 nd planet to survive in case earth can’t sustain human life. How will you get there The first plasma-powered rocket to Mars launched off with my group. It took us 23 days to reach Mars. Life can only survive where there is water. There was frozen water in the polar ice caps of Mars. This was where we decided to land. The landing was very tough and it felt like the ship was going to break apart. We luckily stopped at an edge of a canyon that had been the bed of an ancient lake. What do you do when first get there We needed air, water, food and shelter to survive. We had brought food that would last us two months but we only had 5 days of supply of air and water. We desperately needed supply of oxygen and water. So we dug in the canyon and, to our relief, we found ice. We brought solar heater that would use t
