Sherlock Holms


Character
     A young lady named Mary's father died. Ever since someone has been sending her expensive pearls every month. This went on for a whole year. Soon she was been asked to go and meet a stranger. 

 Plot
     Mary goes to Sherlock Holmes for advice. Should she meet the men and why were they sending her pearls. Holmes was confused. He had no way of finding out who these strangers were. Holmes told Mary to go to the meeting so Holmes could get some information about whats going on. So when Mary goes to meet these stranger, Holmes follows her without being seen. From the meeting Holmes finds out that this stranger was the one who killed Mary's father. Now, the murderer was trying to force Lucy into marrying her. When Lucy refused the murderer also killed her.

 Solution
     Holmes had found out who the dangerous murder was. Now all he had to do was arrest him. But Holmes didn't know where the murderer lived. He only saw his meeting spot. But Holmes soon realized that the murder would have gone to Lucy's house to take back the pearls he sent her! Before the murderer were just sending those pearls to Lucy to get her attention. So the next day when the murderer went to Lucy's house, Holmes was there waiting for him. He recognized the murderer, from the meeting, and arrested him The murderer was finally caught.

   John A. Fisher is a concerned parent. He believes that garden education is vital to the future of children.  His article, "Growing the Kinder-Garden" argues that schools should teach garden education. In order to convince his audience, Fisher instills a feeling of guilt, appeals to logos, and uses collective pronouns.      First of all, Fisher instills a feeling of guilt into his audience. He talks about how children in today's society barely know about gardening. He provides a strong point stating that, "if you have a young child, ask him or her where food comes from. Don't be surprised if the answer you get is 'From the store!'" This shows that most children don't know where food truly comes from.
