half magic summary

What is it about
Half magic is story of 4 children. Their names are Jane,Mark (who is the only boy in the family),Martha,and Kathleen.Their father had died. They were unlucky kids who were sometimes friends and some times enemies.
Plot
They were walking down the street and found a nickel.They said random words and it half happened when they said them.Here is an example Martha wished there was a fire in the garden.It was no ordinary nickel, it was a half magical nickel. Half magic means it only grants half of what you wish for. Here are the examples:

Jane put Martha under the seat because she was making a lot of noise. Martha wished that she came up from under the seat. Then she came half way out from the seat.That was bad because she didn't come up from under the seat and she was stuck.

Jane missed her father so she wished that their father was back. Their father came half back in Jane's mind only.

Mark wished that he can go to a deserted island.It didn't take them to the deserted island. It took him to Sarah a desert.It was bad because a desert is super hot.
there was lot of confusion.They didn't know how they got half way to the places they wished to go.
solution
They decided to double their wishes. That is when things started getting solved.
